The following are lyrics to "Bye, Bye Miss American Pie."

But February made me shiver
With every paper I delivered
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died

I interpreted these lyrics to mean the two following things.
First, I thought it was talking about the Vietnam war when it says
"Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride."

I also believe it is talking about when the plane crashed carrying Holly, Valens, and Richardson.

This picture is of the United States soldiers changing a flag because one of the commanding officers ordered them to because a politician that was visiting wanted to hang it in his office. It became known to many as a symbol of victory and hope, and the soldiers pictured were known to all as heroes. Later on in the war, some of these brave soldiers were lost due to guerrilla warfare. The survivors returned to America and were treated like the bravest soldiers in all of the Vietnam War.

Rushmore

If I had to choose four people that I would want to have recognized for their contributions to United States history, I would choose:

  • Jackie Kennedy

  • Bobby Kennedy

  • An anonymous face of one (really, all) of the soldiers from the Vietnam War

  • Jackie Robinson

I would choose Jackie Kennedy because even though her husband cheated on her, she still chose to give him another chance and to stand by him. After he was brutally murdered next to her, she chose to wear the same dress when Lyndon Johnson was being sworn in because she wanted the nation "to see what those crooks did to my husband." She is truly the symbol of strength.

I chose Bobby Kennedy because even though his brother had been murdered because he was president, he still had the guts to run for president later because he wanted to make the country better. Even though he is not usually recognized as being assassinated along with his brother, I think people should realize that he had to endure the same fate as JFK.

The most important person that should be recognized, I feel, is the face of an American Soldier that fought in the Vietnam War. I have heard stories from my uncle who fought in that war, and sometimes there wasn't even enough food so they had to resort to eating slugs that they found. These men were starving, living in fear for their lives every day, and in, for lack of a better word, pure hell. They truly made the sacrifice for their country.

Lastly, I feel that Jackie Robinson should be recognized as well. He should be recognized because he had to endure being the enemy in the public's eye just because of his skin color. He didn't let this stop him , though. Because he still chose to follow his dreams, he made a lot of headway for African American rights.

A single bullet? Dale Myers says "yes"

Dale Myers tries to prove the magic bullet theory and Oswald being the sole killer to be true using many different pieces of evidence. He says that a lot of people from the mob have come forward to make deals with the government. However, not a single one of them has ever mentioned anything that deals with the Kennedy assassination. He also tries to prove the magic bullet theory by showing how the bullet could easily pass through two people. Lastly, he shows that Oswald had plenty of time to shoot all three bullets.

I however, do not agree. Where are the facts that disprove why the magic bullet was not shattered, mangled and destroyed after going through the governors wrist? In fact, it is not even mentioned in the video that the governor was shot in the wrist while he tried to prove this so-called theory. I think there was a very well kept secret conspiracy.

Eyewitnesses

My mom said that when the Kennedy assassination happened she was in her fourth grade class room and the nuns came on her P.A. system and told them all to start saying the rosary. When she went home that day my grandmother was watching television (which was rare because she never watched television during the day). She did not understand what it all meant but she could tell that it was very devastating to the grown-ups. Several days later she remembers watching the funeral on television. She was nine at the time.

My father was in school when Kennedy was assassinated and his teacher told his class that the president had been assassinated. He felt very sad, and thought that everyone around him was sad as well. He was nine as well at the time.

Fact and Fiction

On November 22, 1963, JFK was assassinated and almost everyone assumed that Lee Harvey Oswald was the killer. But later, people begin to be skeptical. The new theory was that it was impossible to fire three shots (the number of shots that were in the Zapruder film) in under six seconds. However, the problem is that Oswald had approximately 8.6 seconds to fire them and in the film, Oswald actually manages to fire all three of the shots in only 5.6 seconds. This then proves this theory of why multiple shooters had to be involved incorrect.

I Love Lucy

The 1950's comedy, "I Love Lucy" starring Lucille Ball, aired for six seasons and was number one for four of those seasons from 1951 to 1957. Many American families at the time loved it, and still do! In the show, Ricky Ricardo and Lucy go through their every day life, comically, and later in the series, have a child named little Richie.
